Dithmarscher Landesmuseum

A modern and expressive visual identity was developed for the Dithmarscher Landesmuseum. As part of the project, a new logo was created that represents the combination of tradition and contemporary design. In addition, a comprehensive corporate identity was designed to shape the museum’s visual profile – from color scheme and typography to business stationery and advertising materials. The goal was to reflect the museum's regional history and cultural significance in a fresh and consistent design.

Role

Logo,
Corporate Identity

As part of this corporate design project, a flexible logo design was developed that can be used both horizontally and vertically. It is based on a colored bar combined with a concise typeface. The different variants of the logo are designed to adapt to different applications — from digital media to print materials. The design remains versatile and dynamic, similar to a museum's changing exhibitions, while meeting all the requirements of a clear, easily recognizable logo. In particular, the color choice of the logo helps to present the brand identity in a visually strong and consistent way.

The corporate design includes a palette of basic colors that are used as primary color values. At the same time, it remains flexible so that other colors can be used depending on the context — for example, in combination with images on flyers or posters. Either one of the defined corporate colors or a dominant color from the imagery can be selected to achieve a harmonious overall effect.

Modular tile design

Another key design element of the corporate design is the stylized representation of the ceiling structure in the form of modular tiles. These tiles provide a flexible and versatile basis for the design of all media and enable consistent recognition. They can be used as both color and image tiles, providing a dynamic way to vary and update layouts.

Modular tiles allow you to create new, interesting, and visually appealing layouts over and over again. By using tiles in different sizes and positions, you can create a varied yet cohesive visual that is consistent across media.

Tiles can be used either as colored areas or as colored overlays on images. This flexibility allows images and color areas to be combined in creative ways to create customized solutions for every type of content and media requirement. The result is a distinctive, dynamic design that maintains corporate identity consistency.

Typography

A prototype of “CA Serigraph” by Cape Arcona Type Foundry was chosen for the typographic design and is used for all textual content and awards. It reflects the characteristic style of the design and contributes to a consistent and professional brand communication.
